What are these tiny screws in my jawbone?

branemark.jpgOver 40 years ago, Prof. Per-Ingvar Branemark discovered that the metal titanium is biocompatible and integrates well with bone. In fact, titanium fuses with bone over time. He called this integration process “Osseointegration”. Professor Branemark realized immediately that his discovery would revolutionize the medical and dental industry in applications where prostheses need to be attached to bone. Today, titanium is the most widely used metal in dental and medical applications. Nobel Biocare enhanced the integration ability of titanium even further by applying a special oxidation layer to its dental implants that enhances the rate at which titanium integrates with bone.

fog.jpgReplacing missing teeth

Tooth extraction is quite common due to poor dental health and gum disease. Leaving the missing tooth space empty may not sound too serious, but the consequences of not filling in the space from the missing tooth can include:

  • The teeth adjacent to your missing tooth can change position to fill the gap;
  • The loss of your missing tooth’s root can cause your jawbone to shrink, making your face appear prematurely older; and,
  • A missing tooth in the front of your mouth can affect your smile and your self-confidence.

In many situations, a dental implant is the most pleasingly aesthetic solution for replacing the missing tooth. An all-ceramic dental crown or dental bridge, secured to a dental implant, provides a complete and beautiful solution for improving your smile. A dental implant takes the place of the missing tooth’s root and helps prevent the above consequences.

Directly from Ireland and from Norway

From February new flight companies provide more opportunities to fly to Hungary.

Norwegian Air
opens a new base for its flights at the southern part of Norway at Rygge Airport and will settle two new Boeing 737-800 aircrafts. One of them is going to fly to Budapest every Thursday and Sunday. It is a new possibility to the ones who live south part of Norway and south-west of Sweden to visit Hungary without changing airplanes.

Olympic champion Inge de Bruijn - Face of Nobel Biocare

mosoly.jpg"I love to smile" says World Record Holder and Olympic swimming champion, Inge de Bruijn. So, is it just success that does it?

"Of course, you always smile when you win gold medals” she replies, “but family, friends and sunshine are good too".

Success at a stroke - World Record holder and European Champion at 50m Freestyle and 100m Butterfly, Inge is The Netherlands’ most successful Olympian. In Sydney, she broke three world records in five days, winning three gold medals, one silver and securing her place in Swimming Hall of Fame.

The hard, relentless hours of training were rewarded again when World Swimming Magazine made her Female Swimmer of the Year two years running in 2000 and 2001. This was followed by more smiles for one gold, one silver and two bronzes in Athens.

Out of the pool and into the spotlight - Now Inge has decided to step aside from the time consuming demands of competition and concentrate on things that have now become more important – like friends and family and a flourishing new media career. This is why she decided to bring her smile up to Olympic standards.

"You’re always training…" Inge shrugs because the explanation is obvious: one only achieves her level of success by being single-minded every minute of the day.

"My teeth were OK, but my smile wasn’t perfect. I’d worry if people noticed my teeth – and I hated seeing myself in the press. So, I promised myself as soon as I had the time I’d do something about it. When I looked at the options, the obvious choice to me was all-ceramic veneers."

During the Vintage Festival of Szekszard - Szekszard is a Hungarian town where one of QualityPlant’s clinics is located - Nobel Biocare organized a vintage-care exhibition to promote dental implants and turn people’s attention to dental care. Dr Zsolt Halasz owner and chief dentist of our clinic was asked to be the "face" of this promotion because of his outstanding results in dental implantation in Hungary.
